  1. SNMP should be enabled on your managed switches. The program should be allowed in the Firewall so it could work with the SNMP protocol. Run the Network Map Creation Wizard in LANState. Scan your network by IP address range. IP addresses of your SNMP devices should be located inside the scanned IP address range.
  2. If your organization tests network traffic, do not use a network proxy as Windows Firewall does not block proxy traffic. Instead, use a network traffic analyzer. Based on your needs, there are many network traffic analyzers available at no cost. You can prevent Windows from setting the time automatically.
  3. Step 2: Decide what data to map. Now we need to think about what exactly we'd like to color-code on the map. We need to pick one column of data for the map's county colors, but all we have so far.

1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu, or press the Windows logo key + E.

2. Select This PC from the left pane. Then, on the Computer tab, select Map network drive.

3. In the Drive list, select a drive letter. (Any available letter will do.)

4. In the Folder box, type the path of the folder or computer, or select Browse to find the folder or computer. To connect every time you log on to your PC, select the Reconnect at sign-in check box.

5. Select Finish.

Note: If you can't connect to a network drive or folder, the computer you're trying to connect to might be turned off, or you might not have the correct permissions. Try contacting your network administrator.
